I know about the issue with running win64 programs on Mac with a 64-bit version of WINE but I was wondering if a 64bit version of WINE will run Win32 programs in a 64bit only version of MacOS.

I think you will need to install wine 32bits because you can install 32bits packages on any 64 bit OS but you need to get all the 32bits lib as well. 64bits and 32bits can live side by side but are not compatible. You can probably install wine 32bits on your macbook but it will add lots of 32b libraries you probably already have in 64 bits

  • I think you misunderstand the question. wine 32bits will not run period if you put the MacOS in 64 bit mode but wine 64bits will. But Win64 programs will not run given the API compatibility problem. So can Wine 64-bit run win32 programs in 64bit only OS?

  • Didn't know Mac OS was that **** with 32bits... No you probably can't if you can't install anything in 32bits
