I just can't find the command to display a *.png image! I tried xdg-open command but it failed:

[student@seqpapl1 Images]$ xdg-open adapter_content.png
xdg-open: no method available for opening 'adapter_content.png'

I am currently running ubuntu linux on the server.

What terminal program are you using? On what sort of machine? In what environment? it's possible you could just install something like imgcat depending on the answers to these questions.

  • Are you remoting in to the server? Do you have an xterm session running?
