The Art Academy of Latvia (Latvian: Latvijas Mākslas akadēmija) is an institution of higher education and scientific research in art, located in Riga, Latvia. The neo-Gothic brick building is located on Krišjānis Valdemārs Street, next to the National Museum of Art.[1][2]

  • Anšlavs Eglītis - Novelist and author of short stories


  • Kārlis Padegs - Expressionist painter


  • Ināra Tetereva - Philanthropist behind the Boris and Ināra Teterev fund, a Latvian patron of the arts.


  • Daina Skadmane - (2011-2013), she left more than 342 art works in her young life, her name is associated with the artwork "Vēja egle" (Fir of Wind) in Riga[4][5][6] and her internationally famous collection devoted to the events of the Holocaust in Latvia.[7]
