I've been installing several desktops (Fluxbox, i3wm, Xfce) on my Raspbian Lite to try them. When i've installed Xfce, it also intstalled a display manager (LightDM).
Is it possible to add the option of starting without GUI to the the other Desktop options?.
I know I can disable LightDM but I would like to know if it is possible to do something like that.
linux raspbian display-manager

are you looking for autologin? would you like to boot directly into your desktop environment without going through lightdm's chooser?

Actually no. I want knowif it is possible to add 'tty' to all the other desktop options that the display manager offers. Meaning, turning off GUI environment.

wouldn't a simple ctrl-alt-f1 or ctrl-alt-f2 work in that case?

That would still keep GUI environment in memory on tty1. It's not a question of whether there is any other way of launching a non GUI environment. I know how to to that. I want to know if it can be done from within the display manager.
