At my workplace which is a large industrial MNC we use a lot of "minimal" (as small as we can make them) Docker containers for specialized Python tasks, CI/CD tasks, deployment tools and DevOps. We often base these containers on Alpine Linux. Now I recently found the project LinuxKit which states its goal as being specialized for building containers. I am going to try it, but maybe you already know if I should encounter any problems? One of the reasons we chose Alpine Linux was because of its size, but we have run into certain problems with it too. Now I have high hopes for LinuxKit but I am just getting started. Will it be "better" that Alpine Linux for our work?
