Fedora 27 Unable to install or update getting error error: can't create transaction lock on /var/lib/rpm/.rpm.lock (No such file or directory)

I just installed Fedora 27 in my Laptop. I am having problems in updating and installing software packages in my Fedora.
When i try to install gparted or update my fedora I get an error




Is this ok [y/N]: y
error: can't create transaction lock on /var/lib/rpm/.rpm.lock (No such file or directory)
Key import failed (code 2). Failing package is: gparted-0.31.0-4.fc27.x86_64
GPG Keys are configured as: file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-fedora-27-x86_64
Key import failed (code 2). Failing package is: gtkmm24-2.24.5-4.fc27.x86_64
GPG Keys are configured as: file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-fedora-27-x86_64
Public key for lxpolkit-0.5.3-2.fc27.3.x86_64.rpm is not installed. Failing package is: lxpolkit-0.5.3-2.fc27.3.x86_64
GPG Keys are configured as: file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-fedora-27-x86_64
Public key for unique-1.1.6-18.fc27.x86_64.rpm is not installed. Failing package is: unique-1.1.6-18.fc27.x86_64
GPG Keys are configured as: file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-fedora-27-x86_64
The downloaded packages were saved in cache until the next successful transaction.
You can remove cached packages by executing 'dnf clean packages'.
Error: GPG check FAILED
[root@home ~]#




I want to mention that i am logged in as a root and i cannot update my fedora 27 nor i can install any software package

  • Fresh install, with a verified good media (means, checksum validation on the downloaded image and burned media all match). Or you will be wasting tons of time and frustrating yourself. And yes, downvoting this is sick and cruel.
