I recently installed the popular Alarm Clock software on Fedora 28.

When I open it in a terminal I get the following message:

 ** (alarm-clock-applet:5286): WARNING **: 13:16:19.445: AlarmApplet: Could not locate sounds!

If I nonetheless set an alarm, the following warnings appear:

** (alarm-clock-applet:5864): WARNING **: 14:37:00.987: Failed to send notification: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.freedesktop.Notifications was not provided by any .service files

** (alarm-clock-applet:5864): CRITICAL **: 14:37:00.991: Could not play '': Invalid URI »«.

** (alarm-clock-applet:5864): CRITICAL **: 14:37:00.991: Alarm(0x5634aaccf020) #0: alarm_error: #1: Could not play '': Invalid URI »«.

(I translated the "Invalid URI" part to English)

For the rest the sound seems to work (apart from some noise at higher volumes). An HDMI cable connects my screen to the computer, but I use other audio speakers.

Some more information that might be of help:

$ alsactl init

I already have installed gst-plugins-good as was a solution suggested on https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/alarm-clock-applet/ so I was hoping that someone could help me with this issue.
