My friend upgraded his Zorin Desktop with Ubuntu 18.04. Now, at login, he has four desktops to chose from on the login screen:

  • Zorin desktop

  • Gnome

  • Gnome on xorg

  • Gnome classic

Choices two, three, and four work AOK. However, if he chooses the first one (Zorin), he's stuck in a loop; he enters his username, and is immediately prompted for his login name again, never reaching the prompt for the password. How may one resolve this problem?

  • @K7AAY Yes they do, according to this user on zorin forum zoringroup.com/forum/… zorin team made a mistake allowing zorin users to upgrade to ubuntu 18.04 so what happened is that my friend installed ubuntu upgrade on top of zorin which broke the os and a reinstallation is needed..... take what i just said with a grain of salt because I know nothing about zorin and I don't know if I can trust that guy

  • Lynob, do you see how I incorporated more data into the original post? You can do that with edit as you learn more about the situation. Zorin is just another Ubuuntu based distro with different eye xfce or GNOME candy made to resemble Win10 more closely.
