How do I start programming on an SGI Irix Machine?

A little while back, I bought an SGI Indy computer, which I eventually netbooted. I finally got the bare minimum assets for a successful installation, which did not include any demos or COMPILERS. I would like to join the community of porting modern day applications to SGI machines, but I cannot do that without a compiler. Any assistance would be helpful.
To start off, some of the basic questions are:
*Where can I get MIPSpro for an SGI machine that could compile OpenGL or IrisGL?
*Where could I get a preinstalled version of the MIPSpro compiler that I could just paste in my files? I need this because I cannot use GCC without MIPSpro because of some missing files that are not in the /bin/ directory. (All of the other files are missing too, as a matter of a fact)
My computer has no disk drives, and I have no MIPSpro disks, but I do have the .img files.
