On my Cent OS 7 the latest version of libmysqlclient.so.18 has been installed but I want to install libmysqlclient.so.16: and want to remove libmysqlclient.so.18.
How can I do this?
centos rhel mysql mysql-connection

you'll need to hand compile and install that library somewhere else, and then maintain it for security patches ... or why exactly do you need this?

This is usually a very, very bad idea. But tell us more -- if you're going to take on all support for your custom release, forever, there's got to be a great payoff for doing all that work properly. Please tell us.
