Trackpad dies after some time
Clash Royale CLAN TAG#URR8PPP
Running Gnome on an Archlinux system on a Toshiba Z-30 laptop. Over the last couple of mothns I've been encountering a strange issue with the mouse/trackpad. After a couple hours of use, the trackpad starts randomly failing until it dies completely. The only way for it to work again is to either by suspending and logging back in, or completely rebooting the computer. Whenever the trackpad starts failing, there are several "GlidePoint" synchornization error messages:

There are multiple Z30 models. Suggest you collect your serial number and enter it here support.toshiba.com/support/modelHome?freeText=1200015974 to see exactly which Z30 you have, then click edit and add the model number to your question.

Having the exact same issue w/ FreeBSD+XFCE and a Lenovo Ideapad. It got be a hw issue w/ those models of trackpads.

The touchpad has worked with no issue for roughly 4 years, and it immediately recovers with rebooting/suspending. While it could very well be hardware-related, I really doubt it.

hw + driver issues I bet. Some initialization / flaw in the machine state of the open source drivers/interrupt handler. It apparently works wells enough and misbehaves randomly. It returns to working normally upon rebooting/suspending as you describe. Interestingly enough, you are in Linux and I am in FreeBSD 12.
