cannot mount share from windows server on RHEL
Clash Royale CLAN TAG#URR8PPP
I have a problem with mounting cifs share from windows 2k8 R2 on RHEL 5.3.
When I'm trying to mount share I'm getting error mount error 112 = Host is down
. Other win machines can access this share without any problems.
I can ping this machine and telnet to 139 port. I can even access to this share with smbclient but only on FQDN hostname(when Iam using IPaddr it failed).
My mount command: mount -t cifs -v -o domain=mydom,username=myuser,password=mypass //my_win_share/dir /mount_point
. SMBClient command: smbclient -L my_win_share --port=139 -U mydom/myuser
I tried to mount this share with option vers=2.0 and vers=2.1 but there is the same error.
Any ideas what is going on?

rhel mount windows samba cifs
Your ancient, unsupported version of rhel has an ancient, unsupported version of samba that uses a protocol that isn’t supported anymore in Windows. Try installing RHEL6 or 7.
