I am trying to install some updates for my ubuntu machine, and I am successfully able to access the internet with a strong wifi connection, but when I try and install the updates it says there is no internet connection.
Is there any command I can run to get past this? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Unix & Linux! ;-) Could you please go to a terminal and typesudo apt update && sudo apt dist-upgrade
, then edit your question and provide the output because as it currently stands, your question is too broad to answer... :-(
