When I try to switch to the NVIDIA driver, my laptop screen goes black during boot-up and then it powers down. I wonder, what is the correct procedure for making the switch?
I'm running Lubuntu 18.04, on a MacBookAir3,1. It has the GeForce 320M (rev a2) graphics card.
Here's what I've tried:
- Open the "Software & Updates" application
- On the "additional drivers" tab, select NVIDIA driver v. 340.107
- Apply changes
- Reboot
- after reboot, the screen goes black and the computer powers off
- I had to boot to the command line, remove the NVIDIA driver and reinstall the noveau driver, to get things running again.
Are there different/better steps I could take instead?
