I'm relatively new to Linux, and I have a fresh install of Ubuntu 18.04 (LTS) installed and running from a USB stick.

When trying to install Dialog via terminal: sudo apt-get install dialog

I get this error: Package dialog is not available, but is referred to by another package. This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or is only available from another source

I have read other answers, but they're all specific to other cases. None of them fix the dialog package problem.

I have also tired sudo apt-get update as suggested elsewhere but it did not change anything.
