I have a client server which doesn't allow outside communication through default 22 port for security reasons.

But as per requirement, client needs to connect to my VM in global internet through SFTP for transfer of some big files .

I would like to know whether I can open a new port 1122 on my firewall and route the traffic towards 22 port for all requests coming on this?

Is it possible to add a port-forwarding inside a firewall without a server reboot?

  • sshd can bind on 2 ports, no need to use portforwarding.
