Tried installing Debian 9 with a USB stick on my HP ProBook 4540s.

The installation completed successfully.

However, when i try restarting, I'm greeted with this message - BootDevice Not Found Please install an operating System on your hard disk

I've successfully tried reinstalling severely, but each time I'm met with the same message.

Running hardware check shows SMART Check: Not Available

How can I successfully boot into my newly installed OS

  • I have used legacy boot and secure boot is disabled. Same results.

  • Did you change the Boot Order/BIOS to boot from the USB and then not change it back?
