I have an HP Envy 15 j179ez (Intel® Core™ i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2.40GHz × 8 ) running Windows 8.1. Some days ago, I installed Ubuntu 16.04 alongside Windows and it's actually running very well. However, I am experiencing some problems with the battery. First of all, it seems to drain very fast compared to Windows. Secondly, the percentage value indicating the current charge left sometimes goes from 20% to 40% or the other way around in a second without charging. Also the time remaining jumps around like this.

I have already installed powertop and set the tunables to good, however 20+ of these change back to bad after some time. Further I have installed tlp and I noticed that also the values of charge full and charge now (which I got after executing sudo tlp-stat -b) jump around.

Does anyone know how I can resolve these problems?
