Autologin and Autostart Script

I'm working with a Raspberry Pi running the latest Raspbian image. I'm trying to have a user autologin and then run a script. When I manually login the script works as normal. But, when it logs in automatically the script doesn't start.
To run the script automatically I edited the autostart file in LXDE-pi
To login automatically I edited the lightdm.conf file
Any thoughts on what could be causing this bug?
