For some reason vscode won't start unless I run it with sudo code --user-data-dir. Running code doesn't display any error, it just runs and does nothing. I believe I messed up the installation because I installed it with conda, which I accidentally ran with sudo. I tried vscode with:

sudo apt-get remove code
sudo apt-get purge code

and reinstalling it with the .deb from the official website, but the problem persists. Any recommendations?
