I've been dealing with an issue for awhile and have been trying to find ways to work around this issue. So here it goes...
I am trying to be able to download Linux distros onto my Asus ROG GL502VT laptop (specs below). Right now, I have only been able to get this to work as a virtualbox, which I don't like. I would really rather have this as a dual-boot with my Windows 10. Basically, the issues I have been running into are:
- Freezes loading into bootable USB drive at the end of scripts.
This problem I was able to do a workaround for where I booted into a low graphics version on Fedora, then was able to later change graphics back to the full-version. Not sure why this was a problem in the first place. May also be an issues, but not the main one.
- Cannot install NVIDIA drivers
This one, I cannot find a solution for this. I am reaching the point where I don't think Linux will play nice with my laptop...which sucks. I have been following the website https://www.if-not-true-then-false.com/2015/fedora-nvidia-guide/ of the steps to go about the driver install. However, my system always fails on the "2.8.6 nVidia Installer Automatic Xorg Config and Backup" step. After this fails, I can no longer boot into Fedora as it runs into a "fatal login error"
Basically if anyone has any ideas of what I'm doing wrong here, I would love to hear it. I would love to be able to get this running and be able to try out other distros as well.
