Live CD won’t boot

My system is a
Lenovo X300
2 Cores
4 GB RAM
Linux Mint 32-bit 17.3.2
I am trying to boot to Windows 8 but computer just takes me to the de crypt login screen. I have changed BIOS settings and tried booting straight from the disk but it gave me a screen with white static bars then booted back up to Linux
This is not a school computer

Is windows 8 already installed, or do you try to boot from an USB stick/optical drive ?
