I'm running Sabayon linux, but the touchpad hasn't been recognized on any of the live-usbs I ran, exluding kubunto, where it's recognized as Elantech 1200 but worked only for few seconds then stopped.

I've tried pretty much any solution I encountered on the forums:

*adding to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT: i8042.reset, i8042.nopnp (and few more), psmouse.synaptics_intertouch=1, hw.psm.synaptics_support="1", psmouse.proto=bare,config_mouse_ps2_elantech=y, i8042.kbdreset=1

*updated my BIOS to latest version

Note, to run acpi I use the following kernel options

"acpi_osi=! acpi_osi='Windows 2009' (otherwise the system won't load)

*blacklisted i2c_hid (in /etc/modprobe.d/elan.conf)

*updated kernel to 4.15.0-sabayon

*updated all the drivers I figured related

I'm completely lost as to what else I could do.
Some system output:

xinput
⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2 [master pointer (3)]
⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ Genius Optical Mouse id=11 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ ITE Tech. Inc. ITE Device(8910) id=13 [slave pointer (2)]
⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3 [master keyboard (2)]

↳ AT Translated Set 2 keyboard id=15 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ ITE Tech. Inc. ITE Device(8910) id=16 [slave keyboard (3)]

dmesg:

dmesg|grep touch
[ 0.915280] usbcore: registered new interface driver ums-onetouch
dmesg|grep elan

lshw doesn't find anything related to elantech.

Everything else works right now on my laptop, but the touchpad and the keyboard backlight which I cannot turn off. But otherwise mic, camera, nvidia, speakers, usb, audiojack, all work.

Any suggestions will be very appreciated. I know my touchpad works, because in bios I have it working normally.
