I can get X working just fine using the nvidia driver, but the intel card doesn't seem to be recognized.
I suspect it has to do with the Intel card not being recognized as a VGA device, but I'm not sure what to do about that.
When I check with lspci, I only get the nvidia card:
lspci | egrep 'VGA|3D'
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GP104M [GeForce GTX 1070 Mobile] (rev a1)
When I just check out all the intel devices, I see it listed, but as a "Display controller".
00:02.0 Display controller: Intel Corporation Device 591b (rev 04)
My goal is to use bumblebee to run off the intel driver, but use the dedicated nvidia card when running anything graphics intensive.
Any suggestions on things to try or what to check next?

No need for bumblebee nowadays. Just use the Nvidia X Server Settings to change profiles (reboot needed).

@MichaelBay Apparently I'm way out of date on the subject. I took a quick look at nvidia-settings, but didn't see any obvious settings to change. Can you link me to some docs or more specifics on how this is done? Thanks!
