sudo yum -y --enablerepo=remi-php54 install php-xml php-soap php-xmlrpc php-mbstring php-json php-gd php-mcrypt

Why not just remove the php73 packages and install the php54 packages?

  • Can you give me the full commands!

  • Before you begin, is this a VM or a physical machine? If it's the former, power it off and take a snapshot first. Afterwards, power it back on and use yum remove instead of yum downgrade.

Might I also add that the php packages from remi begin with php## where ## corresponds with the version and the binaries will be located in /opt/remi/php##/root/usr/bin. You'll need to prepend it to your path in order to use it and set the modules in httpd to use it.
