Strange static lines in Kate Editor
Clash Royale CLAN TAG#URR8PPP
I'm having a strange issue with Kate under Kubuntu 18.10 where the lines displayed in the below screenshot seem to persist no matter what option it is I'm disabling. They are static and remain in the exact same position when scrolling up and down the code I'm writing (the portion of which is harmless to display but included to demonstrate how disruptive it is to my workflow).
I'm at a loss. I have no idea how to fix this, and I did attempt the solution offered here: How to turn off lines under entire text in Kate editor?
It made little difference.
This issue doesn't appear on other text editors, leading me to believe there must be some setting I'm missing?
Edit: I have attempted to change the colour scheme back to default, but it changed nothing.
