I am going to have my own Unix server set up and being on macOS I want to choose the OS that is most similar with terminal bash commands to macOS.
I started encountering differences with this command that makes me believe it isn't as easy as I would have assumed. brew install coreutils
get you part of the way there but there seems to be other differences I wouldn't have guessed. What distro is closest for the command above?
bash osx

Asking about one specific command in my opinion is not opinion based. Having a broader scope of all commands certainly isn't narrow but again not opinion based.

I don't really want to be limited to apple hardware for fairly obvious reasons.
