Feeling kinda stupid here. I am trying to get the mutillidae project started up, and have dropped the unzipped folder in htdocs in my apache/httpd install.
When I navigate to localhost/mutillidae I get the error
Error: Failed to connect to MySQL database. Error connecting to >MySQL database on host '127.0.0.1' with username 'root' and >password 'mutillidae'. First, try to reset the database (ResetDB >button on menu). Next, check that the database service is running >and that the database username, password, database name, and >database location are configured correctly. Note: File /mutillidae>>/classes/MySQLHandler.php contains the database >configuration. Connection error: Connection refused
Now I initially used bitnami lamp, but realized that I don't need it because i have mariaDB/mysql by default. Installed php and can open phpinfo() page no problem.
It looks to me like mutillidae want sto use a user and pass to connect to sql/DB, but the sql install is set to use a different user and pass. OK, but changing either makes no sense because I should also be able to put another app in htdocs (owasp Juice Shop f.exs) and connect to that without having the same usr and pass for my PC's sql, and each app's sql.
What am i doing wrong here and what do i not understand?
