How to change kde open and minimized apps from tabs to panel icon background

I was wondering if it's possible to change the way the panel functions with the open applications by switching from "tabs" to "icon backgrounds". I am running Linux Mint KDE edition and would like to make my panel look like what Manjaro KDE edition looks like.
