I don't have any gui file manager installed and I want to use nnn file manager. NNN uses mimeopen and xdg-open to open files. I can't seem to figure out how to configure any of them. I know about mimeopen -d filename to change the default launcher. But I want to configure everything in one go. Like editing a file like /usr/share/applications/defaults.list. But I also want to use terminal programs that don't have .desktop files.
