How to disable HPA capability using DCO on a SATA HDD?

My Gigabyte motherboard has a stupid BIOS that forces a HPA on the HDD. This can not be disabled in the BIOS.

What I would like to do is reset the HPA (easy enough using hdparm -N p<native_capacity> /dev/sda) and then subsequently use DCO to configure the drive to refuse the creation of the HPA by the BIOS.

Are there any Linux tools I can use to modify various DCO features?

i.e something that is more flexible rather than just a simple hdparm --yes-i-know-what-i-am-doing --dco-restore /dev/sda
