OS: Linux Mint 18.2 Cinnamon 64-bit.
App: MonoDevelop, current version 7.1, i.e. not the old packaged one in the official repository.
I've had it installed badly using flatpak
. Meaning the MonoDevelop would not launch at all, for a long time. Now, I wish to start using it again.
This is the only application using flatpak
as an installation platform on my computer, so I decided to completely purge and delete remnants of both flatpak
, and MonoDevelop.
After normal un-installation, I deleted everything else using locate
.
Now what was my new procedure:
Re-add the
flatpak
repository and re-installflatpak
:$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:alexlarsson/flatpak
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install flatpakChecking
flatpak
's version is above 0.8:$ flatpak --version
Flatpak 0.10.0Following the abnormally short official installation instructions:
$ flatpak install --user --from https://download.mono-project.com/repo/monodevelop.flatpakref
This application depends on runtimes from:
https://sdk.gnome.org/repo/
Configure this as new remote 'gnome' [y/n]: y
Installing: com.xamarin.MonoDevelop/x86_64/stable
Required runtime for com.xamarin.MonoDevelop/x86_64/stable (org.freedesktop.Sdk/x86_64/1.4) is not installed, searching...
Found in remote gnome, do you want to install it? [y/n]: y
Installing: org.freedesktop.Sdk/x86_64/1.4 from gnome

[####################] 1046 metadata, 4319 content objects fetched; 212821 KiB transferred in 182 seconds
No error, great. But...
This is what I get as an error when running it as normal user with:
$ flatpak run com.xamarin.MonoDevelop
As you can see, it asks me if I want to continue without extensions, so I can theoretically say Yes and it will be running without them.
I don't really know what to do with it.
Question: Did I do anything wrong? Or is there anything missing and I could install it?
