I am curious as to how I can back up my Linux mint settings, so I can restore them after reinstall of OS.
I have tried to back up my ./config/dconf/user file, but this is giving me very unreliable results.
For example: In "Themes" settings, I set my folder color to red. I then backed up a copy of my dconf file. I then set the folder color to green. I then deleted the current dconf/user file, and replace with the back up one. I then hit Alt+F2, followed by r to reload cinnamon.
At this time my folders turned back to green. But after a restart they reset to red again. So obviously the .config/dconf/user is not the master of the settings (I have no clue what it is for).
So where is the master dconf file, or is there any one file that contains settings??
