I need to be able to create a customized Centos image that can run as a virtual machine (such as a qcow2 or raw image). I would like to be able to create this image without needing to be sudo, as I need this to run on-demand and without user interaction. I have several rpms that I need to add to the image and a list of packages that need to be added also.

I know of yocto, but I do not know how to generate an image such as qcow2 from the yocto build artifacts.

Does anyone know how to generate a qcow2 image from the yocto build artifacts, or does anyone know a better or different way to generate this image?

Thanks

  • Have you looked at vagrant? That can spin up virtual machines with customizations.
