User Suspend in Slackware 14.2 w KDE

What is the preferred way to implement suspend (sleep/hibernate) so that a user may suspend a desktop from the KDE kickstart menu. The underlying distribution is Slackware 14.2
The intent is to have most users be able to suspend a desktop system, so perhaps group membership might be used.
