I have a nxp imx6 sabresd reference board.
I do not get my eth0 up after doing this
ifconfig eth0 192.168.7.5 netmask 255.255.255.0 up
the log I get after this is,
adev_6dq:/ # ifconfig eth0 192.168.7.5 netmask 255.255.255.0 up

I have added extra prints and configs for IPV6 to enable networking.
I always gets this
eth0: link is not ready
I checked filesystem and there is no /etc/network directory nor I have added any configuration files.
Do I have to add configuration files in order for my ethernet phy to be up?
Can anybody experience in networking, give any debugging tips? I have no idea of networking?

I'd try in this order: another cable, 'ethtool eth0' output, kernel update

I'd try in this order: another cable, 'ethtool eth0' output, kernel update
