Is there a way to set coloring for “cd tab” complete on macOS?

I have turned on coloring, set colored-stats on in my ~/.inputrc but still not working,



here is a screenshot, first one, cd tab & second is ls tab

  • ls -G prints with color on <enter>, even just ls prints it with color on <enter>, it's just the <tab> that isn't printing/show completion with color

  • This is for inside bash only, so If I type bash <enter> in terminal, it opens a new shell inside my terminal and then if i type cd or ls <tab> then the output is with color but if i do it outside that shell in normal terminal window then it is without color for some reason which is weird.
