I have an internal Wi-Fi interface working fine. I want to add a USB interface with a different subnet. The USB is recognized as a Wi-Fi device in dmesg but I don't know how to start it. Can someone explain how to do this?
Adding device and showing in dmesg:
[ 70.629669] ISO 9660 Extensions: RRIP_1991A
[ 635.982042] BTRFS info (device dm-2): qgroup scan completed (inconsistency flag cleared)
[ 765.336143] usb 2-1.3: new high-speed USB device number 5 using ehci-pci
[ 765.445151] usb 2-1.3: New USB device found, idVendor=0bda, idProduct=8812
[ 765.445159] usb 2-1.3: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3
[ 765.445163] usb 2-1.3: Product: 802.11n NIC
[ 765.445167] usb 2-1.3: Manufacturer: Realtek
[ 765.445170] usb 2-1.3: SerialNumber: 123456
What or how do I find the device name to use?

Have a look atip linkandiw, and set up stuff manually. Or use one of the many higher level methods, e.g. network manager (which should have picked up the USB WLAN dongle automatically). If there are hardware problems with your dongle, please edit question withdmesgoutput after you plug it in (we can't guess what you see).
