My problem: I have a geotab that I use in fleet management. When in cellular range it is able to automatically upload fleet information onto the Geotab website for me to access - using a SIM card installed in the Geotab. The problem arises when the fleets are out for cellular range. I've bought and Iridium GO! Unit to help with this issue but my geotab can't seem to be able to recognize this satellite wifi hotspot. My geotab can recognize and connect to my phone's 4G cellular LTE.

I was told by an Iridium personnel that to get my Geotab to be able to recognize my Iridium I'd have to interface the Iridium API - which I'm assuming can do using Linux. Would it be possible to link the 2 devices so that they'd both have the same network settings - so that when out of cellular range the Geotab will automatically connect to the Iridium as backup?

Link to the question that gave me this idea: How to have two network interfaces wifi and ethernet (as a backup) working together

This technical language isn't my expertise at all so please be gentle
