What variations or spinoffs of mail exist that are actively maintained (or bundled with major distributions)? By variations I mean programs that have the same basic set of compatible user commands, command line options and use of .mailrc, but may have its own added features.

The ones I'm familiar with are:

  • mail(x) in BSD/macOS

  • mail in GNU Mailutils

  • s-nail maintained by Steffen Nurpmeso
