i am working on a system recovery task. That is Silicon graphics indy computer , it has irix installed in it. I am facing a segmentation fault (core dump) over there. I Want to make a backup image of my current system and then access it . what step should be taken.
I plugged the harddisk into other computer and tried to make the image using bootable acronis but it does not detect it, it detect it as an unallocated space.

  • The segmentation fault seems to be irrelevant to the issue of backing up the system. What type of operating system does the other machine run? Should it be able to read your Irix disk? If you just want to make a disk image, you should not need to actually mount the disk anyway...
