I've recently moved from kde to mate, and I am really enjoying it.
One thing I really miss is kde's menu because it let you press meta and immediately search for applications, which I use a lot. It was pretty much the only reason I used kde. My friend has recommended using dmenu in it's place, and then making a bind to meta. I have discovered that I cannot simply set meta to anything, it has to be a combo, not just the key. How would I go about doing that? I have already remove mate's default menu, so that doesn't get in the way of anything.
I am also used to using meta+x/c to move back and forth between workspaces. Will this cause any issues after binding dmenu to only meta?
