I have a Debian Stretch box with Gnome 3 and lightDM. The video card is an intel i915. In the current setup the monitor is in portrait mode, so I need to rotate the screen. I addedd in /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/ a file named 10-monitor.conf with the following content:

Section "Monitor"
Identifier "DP-1"
Option "Rotate" "right"
EndSection

I get the lightDM greeter with the correct screen orientation, but when I enter the credentials and Gnome starts, the screen goes back in landscape mode.
How can I fix this?
