Iam Running Tails OS and for increased anonymity and to circumvent censorship i got myself a VPN.

The setup suppose to be TailsOS > Tor > Socks5 > WWW

I have the persitend feature activated.

My VPV provider is VanishIP and they give me the following credentials: ams.socks.ipvanish.com login: xxxx Pass: xxxx

To edit the tor settings accordingly i opend the tor browser and then I went to the tor network settings where you can set a proxy.

The option "manual proxy configuration" is active and where it says Socks its set to 127.0.0.1:9150

now i changed this 127.0.0.1 to ams.socks.ipvanish.com and port 1080 which is default for Socks 5 Connections? (no info from ipvanish on that :/)

"the proxy server is refusing connection"

I thought it might be firewall related and i have to open port 1080 manually? however before i start messing with my firewall i thougt i ask the community ;) Thanks for your help in advanced leila

PS: if i have to reconfigure the firewall can you point me in the the right direction?

Thank You :)
