Is it possible to determine why a drive was unmounted?

I have several systems that are in the field collecting data. They run CentOS 7 and the data is stored to SSD collection drives which are mounted at boot time.

I have had an issue with two of these systems where a collection drive seems to unmount at random.

I know that the drive was mounted at boot because it contains data and the software didn't give an error. This has happened once on one system and multiple times on the other system. The first time it happened I thought it was an issue with one of the drives but it kept happening even after rotating through several sets.

The systems have identical hardware and they all run CentOS 7.4.1708.

Is there a system log that I can look at that would tell me why the drive unmounted? How can I find the cause?
