I'm attempting to modify the latest "complete installation image" (3gb iso file) of Debian by adding a package (specifically openmediavault). I was able to extract the iso file by following debian iso manipulation manual but I couldn't not find a right guide to add a new package to this iso and then re-build.

What is the final goal here? This seems like an XY problem. Does your customer need a Debian installer that has an openmediavault package available to be installed at a later time? Does openmediavault need to be kept up-to-date? Can a "golden image" of Debian be distributed or does it have to be an installer? Why do they need this and will you be there to set it up? Will someone who is familiar with maintaining a Linux system be using this? Why does the installer have to be customized?
