If nut arguments are left empty in pfSense, does that mean it will not take any action?

I am using nut to monitor an apcupsd server and report back the status of the UPS so it is viewable in the pfSense dashboard. However, I don't want nut to actually do anything else.

The pfSense interface has a field for 'Extra Arguments to driver (optional)' plus some additional fields in Advanced settings.

If I leave these fields blank, does that mean that nut will not do anything when the UPS goes on battery?
